Power of Chiang Mai

The 4-day getaway to Chiangmai, Thailand (north of Bangkok) was exactly what i needed. Good food, great company, fresh air, artsy streets, edgy concepts, (referring to the hotel selection). And did i say fresh air.... esp. Up in the mountains--- our little rain forest adventure where we got to explore the forest & enjoy the flora & fauna the gibbon's way.....I want to say I glided through the canopy but i know those 3 will beg to defer.

I will post more pics of the city very soon....

Meanwhile, some resort pics...
Chedi Resort (Contemporary Asian Style)
123 Charoenprathet Rd T.Changkran Muang
Riverside, Chiang Mai

Thumbs up to the citrus cooler a right blend of flavors... i am a Kaffir lime leaves fan so if you just like me, u have to try this at the Terrace Bar and Cigar Lounge.

And if you are into Lanna (traditional thai style), then maybe Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi is for you.

Situated outside the city centre, Dhara Dhevi is quite an experience. Driving to the resort took us close to 15 minutes. The minute I got there I knew i have been to this place. It was almost 5 years ago when i visited Chiang Mai with my family. Back then, the resort was not in operation yet. Only the restaurant was in service. I told K and he gave me the "yah right' look. It was late when we got there so i did not get a chance to explore. Back in bangkok and with some time to kill, I googled the resort for images and alas! THis is that exact spot where we took pictures.
I am glad, My recollection of this place is still quite clear; mainly the structural & layout since it was still under construction when I first visited.
More images in my next posting....
