Must go: Hot Spring Onsen in Wakayama

Located in Shirahama, south of Kansai airport is said to be the oldest onsen (hot spring) in Japan. I can't wait to enjoy the rotenburo (open air baths) that look right out to the vast Pacific Ocean. Saki-no-yu has to be our first stop. Time to unwind and relax before heading to Arizona.

And the next stop will be Sennin Buro at Kawayu Onsen which is only available during winter from December to February. I can't wait to experience my first onsen experience in the Oto river.

Frida Kahlo with Thorn Necklace

Belongings of Frida Kahlo, including hundreds of dresses and accessories have gone on display in Mexico City.Unlike her pieces of art, items in her wardrobe have been locked away by her husband for more than 50 years, until now.
Known for her haunting self-portraits and uni brow, the artist has long since become a fashion icon, inspiring some of the top designers such as France's Jean Paul Gaultier.

The Big 3  precious gems
Art Deco period: the period between the World Wars which resulted in a new interest in jewelry. Designers & Artists of this period embraced geometries and clean lines.  Not only were the strong, distinct shapes employed, this was a period of bold & contrasting colors.

Motifs of the Art Deco---Themes & Motifs of this era are still prevalent today — new diamond cuts were employed to accentuate the geometric taste, including the emerald cut, triangle cut, trapeze cut, and marquis cut.
